Welcome to Monkey Sports!

Monkey Sports is a rural based non-profit organization that provides access to sport for children through inclusion, safe and fun ways to improve their mental and physical well-being. In the last 5 years, we have worked with 2500 children in 3 different states (in remote geographies) and through our work, we have been able to improve children’s behavioral problems and educational outcomes.

Our Impact

Case Studies

“ I like the Frisbee game and it has helped me to learn a few things about leadership. I get an opportunity to resolve my conflict. The game teaches how difficult it is to become a leader. Our parents will not allow us to play on the ground. In the evening, we just hung out with friends (girls) near the home.”

Quarterly Report

As the years come to an end, we are delighted to share that the last three months have been very promising for the organization. Looking inward, we now have a monitoring system in place that is aligned with the assessment and outcomes of our Sangwari Program. Looking outwards, we partnered with an organization in Jharkhand to deliver a 3-day workshop on using sports for development, organized 2nd training for our partner in Bettiah, attended two events organized by UNICEF, Chhattisgarh organized a winter sports event in the community and celebrated five years for the organization.

Assessment Reports

The survey revealed that girls had fewer opportunities to participate in sports at school and in the community. On questions related to physical and emotional safety, many children replied in the direction of playing in non-safe ways. It is common in communities for children to label each other with different names such as Chotu, Lambu, and Kalu and also pass comments such as “ Ladki hai khel nahi sakti”.
